Viewing Your GS1 (UCC/EAN) Company Prefixes

GS1 (UCC/EAN) company prefixes are also called Manufacturer Block IDs. Vendors can view a list of their prefixes. Only OpenText Administrators can add, change, or delete prefixes in OpenText Active Catalogue.

Note: Check your GS1 company prefixes to be sure that they are valid. OpenText does not recommend using invalid GS1 company prefixes, as it may result in chargebacks from some of your retailers.

To view your GS1 (UCC/EAN) prefixes

1	Click Account > Account Details.

The Account Setup and Maintenance page opens, displaying the Account Details tab.

2	Click the GS1 (UCC/EAN) Company Prefixes tab.

The GS1 (UCC/EAN) Company Prefixes page displays prefixes for your account and indicates whether or not they are active prefixes. An “inactive� prefix means the prefix is no longer used.

You should be aware of the following:

If the Prefix Validation compliance check is turned on, and a GTIN uses a GS1 company prefix that is not associated with your account, you cannot add or modify the GTIN.

If the Prefix Validation compliance check is turned off, a GTIN using a GS1 company prefix that is not associated with your account can be added or modified (resulting in non-compliant data).
