Navigating Error Processing

To navigate through the levels of Error Processing

1	Click Data Management > Error Processing. The Error Processing (document list) page opens.

The table displays from left for each error document:

Check boxes to the left of error documents	Check boxes for selecting error documents to delete, resubmit, or revert. Note: Select the top check box to the left of the Date/Time heading to select all documents on a page. Once this check box is selected, deselecting a check box for any document deselects the top check box.
Date/Time	Date and time the document containing errors was retrieved and processed by Catalogue (list begins with most recent documents). Click the hyperlink to open the Error Processing (error type list) page for the error document.
Document Control Number	A separate record is displayed for each ST segment that contains a translation error; the ST number is appended to the control number of the original EDI document. Note: One email notification is sent for each EDI document that was sent, even though several segments may be in error. If your account is set up to allow duplicate control numbers, the record is displayed as DocumentControlNumber:TransactionNumber:SequenceNumber
Errors	Number of errors in the error document.
Error Types	Number of error types in the error document.
Status	Error document's current status: Error—No errors in the error document have been edited. EDI Error—Translation errors have occurred in an ST segment of a sent EDI document. EDI errors cannot be fixed and resubmitted using Error Processing; however, you can view a fragment of the EDI document that contains the error to help you identify the problem. Maintained—One or more errors in the error document have been edited, but the error document has not been resubmitted. Pending Resubmit—Error document resubmission is pending. Error Resubmit—Error document was resubmitted and still contains an error. Synchronous Resubmit—Error document has been resubmitted and is in progress.
Last Update Date/Time	Date and time the error document was last updated or resubmitted to Catalogue.
Last Update User ID	User who last updated the error document.

Documents whose dates and times are in plain typeface have been read or marked “Read.� Those in bold typeface have not been read or have been marked “Unread.� For more information, see “Marking Error Documents as Read or Unread� .

2	To find an error document in the list:

Filter the list to find specific types of error documents. See “Filtering the Error Documents List� .

Scroll through the list.

Use the browse bar to move between pages.

For each document, you can look at the number of errors and the number of error types to get an idea of the scope of errors in a document.

3	Do one of the following:

To view a fragment of the EDI document that contains a translation error (identified by the status EDI Error), click the error document’s hyperlink in the Date/Time column. See “Viewing Translation Errors in an EDI Document� .

To view more details about the EDI data request that contains an error (identified by the status Uncorrectable Error), click the error document’s hyperlink in the Date/Time column. See

To view a list of error types in an error document, click the error document's hyperlink in the Date/Time column. The Error Processing (error type list) page opens. Go to Step 4.

To resubmit errors by error document, see “Resubmitting Error Documents� .

To delete errors by error document, see “Deleting Errors� .

To revert errors by error document, see “Reverting Errors� .

4	On the Error Processing (error type list) page, errors are listed by error types.

The table displays from left for each error type:

Check boxes to the left of the Error Type column	Check boxes for selecting error types to delete, revert, or edit. Note: Select the top check box to the left of the Error Type heading to select all error types on a page. Once this check box is selected, deselecting a check box for any error type deselects the top check box.
Error Type	Code indicating error type. Click the Error Type hyperlink to expand (or collapse) a list of all errors for that error type.
Count	Number of errors for that error type.
Description	Description of the error type.

To expand a list of all errors for a specific error type, click the Error Type hyperlink.

Errors are listed by error types. The table displays from left for each error type:

Check boxes to the left of the errors (in the Action column)	Check boxes for selecting errors to delete, revert, or edit.
Action	Specifies the action the function was attempting to perform. Click the hyperlink to open the Error Processing (error detail) page to view detailed information about the error and to edit attribute values to correct the error.
Selection Code	When applicable, specifies the Selection Code in the error.
Product	When applicable, specifies the Product in the error.
GTIN	When applicable, specifies the GTIN in the error.
Details	Text description of the error.
Status	Error’s current status: Error—Error has not been edited. Maintained—Error has been edited.

5	Do one of the following:

To view the details of an error, click its hyperlink in the Action column. The Error Processing (error detail) page opens. Go to Step 6.

To delete errors individually or by error type, see “Deleting Errors� .

To revert errors individually or by error type, see “Reverting Errors� .

6	View the Error Processing (error detail) page.

The table displays from left for each attribute in the function:

Delete	Check box to select the attribute for deletion from the function.
Attribute Name	The attribute name.
Value	Value of the attribute.
UOM	Unit of measure for the attribute (if applicable).
Private Account ID	Field for retailer number (if applicable) when attribute is private (for example, Unit Cost).

Error locations are indicated in red. Details about the error are displayed. See “Correcting Errors� for information about correcting errors.
