Working with EDI Data

You can use the user interface (UI) to monitor EDI files that you send to OpenText Active Catalogue. The following pages will help you identify your errors. In some cases, you can correct your errors online.

The EDI Management Console (EMC) List—This page displays EDI validation and EDI standards validation errors which are described in the section,“EDI Validation Workflow� . The section, “Using the EDI Management Console� , describes how to use the EMC page to monitor the EDI files that you send.

Error Processing (EP)—This module consists of a series of pages that allows you to drill down to see translation and data validation errors which are described in the section, “EDI Validation Workflow� . Section 14 "Online Correction of Errors," , describes how to use the EP pages to manage and correct EDI errors.

Before submitting EDI data to your production environment, you can validate your data by submitting sample EDI text or an EDI test file to Catalogue. The section, “Submitting EDI Sample Data� , describes how to submit EDI data.
