Working with Accounts : Using an EDI 888 Document to Populate Custom Field Values : EDI Location from Header Segment

EDI Location from Header Segment

When you create custom field definitions, there might be a situation where there are two custom field definitions that both have the same EDI Location (for example, N104), but one custom field definition refers to the Header level and one refers to the Detail level.

In these cases, you can select the EDI Location from Header Segment check box to indicate that the EDI Location for one of the definitions is determined by the segment at the Header level (implying that one retailer-specific custom value applies to all of the products named in a particular loop).

For the other definition, you do not select the check box. This indicates that the EDI Location is determined by the segment at the Detail level (another N104 in the loop at the detail level has a value that is specific to each product for each retailer).
