Text File Download Process

The text file download process consists of these steps:

Find Selection Codes, Products, GTINs or image attributes to download, and place them in the download â€œbasket.â€�

View the download â€œbasketâ€� to verify your selections.

Select the attribute filter and download method (Text File).

Initiate the retrieval of data from Catalogue. At this point, Catalogue retrieves your data and stores it.

The text file format will be item-oriented and include the Selection Code and Product for each item.

GTIN components will be in a separate file from the GTIN export file (in the same zip folder)

Image attributes will be in a separate file from the GTIN export file (in the same zip folder).

The system limits a single text file download to 250,000 items; an error message displays if you exceed the limit. You cannot complete the download until the number of items is below 250,000.

Note: Text File Downloads usually begin within 1 minute. However, at peak times, it may take up to 1 hour for your Text File Download to begin.

View the text file download results. Select the results from which to create the text file.

(Optional) Select options that determine how the data is generated in the text file.

Download the data to create a text file.

The download basket is emptied when you exit the application, however, Catalogue stores the retrieved data so that you can select different options to create numerous text files to suit your purpose. Each time you log in, you can return to the text file download results, select a download result, select options that determine how the data is generated in the text file, and create a new text file that can be saved to your computer.

Note: You are billed only when the download basket is processed (the data is retrieved from Catalogue, Step 4), not when the data is downloaded to create a text file (Step 7).
