Adding Products

To add a Product, you must know the Selection Code above the Product.

To add a Product

1	Click Catalogue > Advanced Search. The Find Catalogue Data page opens.

2	Select Selection Code, type the full Selection Code that will contain the new Product(s), and select EQUAL from the drop-down list.

3	Click Search.

One of the following occurs:

The Product List page opens listing current Products under the Selection Code. Go to the next step.

If no Products have ever existed for this Selection Code, the Selection Code List page opens. Click the Product’s hyperlink (in the Products column). In this case, the hyperlink will be a zero (meaning that zero Products currently exist under this Selection Code). The Add Product(s) page opens. Go to Step 5.

If a Product has been added to and deleted from this Selection Code, and no Products currently exist, the Add Product(s) page opens. Go to Step 5.

4	Click Add to open the Add Product(s) page.

5	For each new Product under the Selection Code, enter:

Required. Product—The Product identifier (maximum of 20 characters)

Note: Do not use any of the following in a Product identifier:

Leading spaces

Illegal characters > ^ ` [ ] * ~

Special characters ! @ # $ % & * ( ) _ / |

Product identifiers are stored and exported in upper case, even if you load the Product in lower or mixed case.

Required. Description—The description of the Product (maximum of 25 characters)

Optional. Extended Description—The extended description of the Product (maximum of 40 characters)

Note: When using the UI, you can only add foreign language product description or product extended description by modifying an existing product. See “Editing Product Detailsâ€� .

6	Do one of the following:

To save the Products, and return to the Product List page, click Save.

To save the Products you have entered and remain on the Add Product(s) page with additional blank fields for adding more Products to the Selection Code, click Add More and repeat the procedure from Step 5.

7	Click Save to save the Products.

8	Click Close to return to the Product List page.
