Adding Image Attributes to a Product

A set of image attributes can be added to a Product. An attribute set represents a single image and must be added for every image you want to add to the Product. The file name must be unique for each attribute set within a Product.

Once a set of image attributes has been added, you can add (upload) a physical image that is associated with that set of attributes. Multiple attribute sets (and physical images) can be added for each Product.

Color Code - Optional

If the image has a color code associated with it, you have the option to add the image at the Product level or at the Product + Color Code level. There are separate icons on the Product Media page for adding an image at each of these levels.

After the attribute set is added, you cannot change the level at which you have added the image.

To add image attributes to a Product

Find the Product you want to add the image attributes to.

The Product List page opens.

Click the image hyperlink (in the Image column) for the Product.

The Product Media page opens. Note that there are two add icons, one for adding the image at the Product level and one for adding the image at the Product + Color Code level.

The Product + Color Code Level Image Attributes popup opens.

Use the attribute fields and/or drop-down lists to add the attribute values of the image.

The required attributes are highlighted in red with a red asterisk.

Color Code—Required only for Product + Color Code Level image. Cannot be changed once attribute set is added.

File Name—Required. The file name of the attribute set. The name must be unique for each attribute set within a Product. Cannot be changed once attribute set is added.
Note: You must include the file extension; for example, sample.jpg. Do not use any of the following illegal characters < > ^ : & ? \ / | + %

File Type—Required. The type of file. Value must be JPG (JPEG).

Image Type—Required. The type of image. Value must be SI (Still Shot).
*
Purpose—Required. The intended use of the image. Value must be INT (internet).

Orientation—Required. The orientation of the image:

PRI - Primary
*
SDL - Side Left
*
SDR - Side Right
*
VF1 - Front
*
VIB - Bottom
*
VIK - Back
*
VIS - Side
*
VIT - Top
*
Location Type—Required. The location type for the image:

ACL - Application Transaction Reference Number
*
FTP - File Transfer Protocol
*
LMI - Local Media Identifier
*
URL - Uniform Resource Locator
*
External Location—Required only when value of Location Type is FTP or URL. The location of the image.

File Size—Optional. The size of the file.
*
Pixel Density (DPI)—Optional. Pixel density (DPI) for image.
*
Height—Optional. The image pixel height.
*
Width—Optional. The image pixel width.
*
Image Style—Optional. The image style:

CSW - Color swatch
*
PRO - Product
*
Facing (GDSN)—Optional. The direction from which the image is viewed:

1 - Front
*
2 - Left
*
3 - Top
*
7 - Back
*
8 - Right
*
9 - Bottom
*
Angle—Optional. The horizontal direction of the image:

1 - Center, No plunge angle
*
2 - Left, No plunge angle
*
3 - Right, No plunge angle
*
7 - Center, Plunge angle present
*
8 - Left, Plunge angle present
*
9 - Right, Plunge angle present
*
Clipping Path—Optional. The name of a path defined in the image itself that defines the outline of the subject of the image.

Image Description—Optional. The description of the image.

Click Save.

The image attribute set has been added to the Product.
