Adding GTINs

To add a GTIN, you must know the Product that will contain the GTIN. Also, you cannot move an existing GTIN to another Product. Delete the GTIN, and then re-add it under the other Product.

To add a GTIN

1	Click Catalogue > Advanced Search. The Find Catalogue Data page opens.

2	Select Product.

3	Select one of the following Product search options:

Identifier—The Product identifier

Description—The description of the Product

Compressed—The compressed Product identifier (leading zeros, spaces, and special characters are ignored)

If you perform a Compressed Product search, the system retrieves all Products with compressed product values that exactly match the value you type in the Product field. Compressed Product identifiers omit leading zeroes, spaces, and special characters in Product identifiers for purposes of the Product search.

For example, the Compressed Product identifier for 000324 MENS SHOES is 324MENSSHOES. Sending 324MENSSHOES in a Compressed Product search returns all Products with that sequence of characters, ignoring leading zeroes, spaces, and special characters in the actual Product identifiers.

4	Select EQUAL from the Product drop-down list (EQUAL is automatically selected and is the only option for Description and Compressed), and type the full Product identifier, description, or compressed Product identifier in the field.

5	Click Search.

One of the following occurs:

If the Product already contains GTINs, the GTIN List page opens. Go to Step 7.

If the Product does not contain any GTINs, the Product List page opens. Go to Step 6.

6	On the Product List page, in the GTINs column, click the 0 (zero) hyperlink.

The GTIN List page opens.

7	On the GTIN List page, click Add.

The GTIN Detail (New) page opens.

8	Optional. To change the attribute filter (the filter determines the attributes that display on the page), select an attribute filter from the Change Attribute Filter drop-down list.

9	Enter the unique GTIN and GTIN Type. To automatically calculate a check digit for the GTIN, go to the following URL:

10	Populate all required attributes. Use the following tips:

To jump to a specific attribute group, select an attribute group from the Jump To Group drop-down list.

To use the Find link for the Color Code and Size Code fields, see “Find Link� .

11	Optional. To make the GTIN a container, use the Prepack/Container Code field. See the following:

“Container and Component GTIN Codes� .

12	Do one of the following:

To save the GTIN, click Save.

To save the GTIN and add more GTINs to the Product, click Add and repeat Steps 8 through 11.

To save the GTIN and base a new GTIN on a copy of the GTIN you are adding, click Copy. See “Adding GTINs By Copying and Modifying an Existing GTIN� .
