Adding GTINs By Copying and Modifying an Existing GTIN

To save time adding the attribute data of a new GTIN, you can copy the attribute data of an existing GTIN and modify it.

To add a GTIN by copying and modifying an existing GTIN

1	Find the GTIN that you want to copy and modify for the new GTIN, or add a GTIN that will be used as the basis for the new GTIN:

2	Open the GTIN Detail (Copy) page using one of these methods:

On a GTIN List page, select the check box to the left of the GTIN you want to copy, then click Copy.

On the GTIN Detail (New), GTIN Detail (Edit), or GTIN Detail (View) page, click Copy.

The GTIN Detail (Copy) page opens with attributes populated with the same values as the selected GTIN.

3	Optional. To change the attribute filter (which determines the attributes that display on the page), select an attribute filter from the Change Attribute Filter drop-down list (under the heading information)

4	Enter the new GTIN and GTIN Type (use all caps). To automatically calculate a check digit for the GTIN, go to the following URL:

5	Populate all required attributes. Use the following tips:

To jump to a specific attribute group, select an attribute group from the Jump To Group drop-down list.

To use the Find link for the Color Code and Size Code fields, see “Find Link� .

6	Optional. To make the GTIN a container, use the Prepack/Container Code field. See the following:

“Container and Component GTIN Codes� .

7	Optional for OpenText Active Catalogue vendors. Change the Product and Product Desc (Product description). Optionally, you can also change the Product Extended Desc (Product extended description) field to do either of the following:

Create a new Product with Product Desc (Product description) to place the new GTIN under.

Enter the Product and Product Desc (Product description) of a different, existing Product to place the new GTIN under.

Note: Product Desc (Product description) must contain a value, but it will be ignored for Products that already exist.

8	Use the attribute fields and/or drop-down lists to add or edit attribute values.

Note: Use the same attribute filter as for the original GTIN. Otherwise, some attributes in the original may not be included in the new GTIN.

9	Do one of the following:

To save the new GTIN, click Save.

To save the new GTIN and add another GTIN that is not based on an existing GTIN (copied), click Add.
