Adding GTINs By Copying and Modifying an Existing GTIN

To save time adding the attribute data of a new GTIN, you can copy the attribute data of an existing GTIN and modify it.

The GTIN Detail (Copy) page opens with attributes populated with the same values as the selected GTIN.

Enter the new GTIN and GTIN Type (use all caps). To automatically calculate a check digit for the GTIN, go to the following URL:

Optional. To make the GTIN a container, use the Prepack/Container Code field. See the following:

Optional for OpenText Active Catalogue vendors. Change the Product and Product Desc (Product description). Optionally, you can also change the Product Extended Desc (Product extended description) field to do either of the following:

Create a new Product with Product Desc (Product description) to place the new GTIN under.

Enter the Product and Product Desc (Product description) of a different, existing Product to place the new GTIN under.
Note: Product Desc (Product description) must contain a value, but it will be ignored for Products that already exist.

Note: Use the same attribute filter as for the original GTIN. Otherwise, some attributes in the original may not be included in the new GTIN.

To save the new GTIN and add another GTIN that is not based on an existing GTIN (copied), click Add.
