GTIN Attribute Rules

To ensure validation of your attributes during processing, follow these rules:

Follow the attribute’s format requirements. The format requirements and definition display as you move your cursor over the attribute name on the GTIN Detail (New), GTIN Detail (Edit), and GTIN Detail (Copy) pages.

The possible data types are:

CHAR indicates alphanumeric

NUMBER indicates numeric

DATE indicates the date format

Data Type	Description
CHAR	The maximum number of alphanumeric characters allowed.
NUMBER	The maximum number of numeric characters allowed (first digit). A second digit, if any, indicates the number of digits allowed to the right of the decimal.
DATE	Use the DATE format you selected as your account preference. See “Maintaining Your Account” .

The following characters should not appear in any data loaded into OpenText Active Catalogue > ^ ` [ ] * ~

Select Unit of Measure (UOM), where applicable, from the drop-down list next to the attribute value field.

Booking Date must precede Availability Date, which must precede Discontinue Date.

Use a Cancel Date only if the GTIN was never produced or shipped. (The GTIN is automatically deleted 12 months after the Cancel Date.) If the GTIN was produced or shipped, use a Discontinue Date.
